No big images in sigs. No long sigs. We understand you want to show off "Hyper-goku 27" or the lyrics to whatever Goth song you're obsessing about, but if you have to see it three times on the same page it gets a little greating. I like tiny little images, 150x50 that are concise and don't make me stare at a 600x200 monstrosity ten times a page.
1. First and foremost. NO PIRACY. This includes: Bootlegs, Kazaa, IRC, any other PtP programs, your mom's panties (no wait, mail those to me for future study). The purpose of this site is to have fun with anime, and support the people who make it. When you buy a bootleg/download a show you are not helping. This is not restricted just to anime, but also video games and computer applications.
1b. Fansubs are a sticky issue. Kee discussion of them within reason. Often than not fansubs irritate me, then I have to be all like "JERRY CHU RAPED YOUR FAMILY BECAUSE YOU TRADED G GUNDAM!! " and you'll be all like "Wah!" But otherwise, no biggie.
2. Don't post in the wrong forum. anime in Anime, games in Gaming, etc. When it doubt, go with General. This isn't a big deal, the topic'll just get moved if you do
3. I think it's funny when crappy threads immediately go off topic. It's not so funny when they're things I actually want to read about. I'm so arbitrary! It's endearing, really.
4. No "Can X beat Y" threads, or anything of the like. No movie casting threads. This is not GameFAQs. Please don't treat it as such.
5. If you post something that's less than three words I will assume that you are post whoring. Ask yourself if a post that says "lol" will really improve anyone's life, if not, recosider or Andrew will be sent out to kiss your sister. However, "I loled" is usually okay.
6. If you're about to post something that could be found in a Spam e-mail, then don't. Nobody cares about disease ridden children or 1001 funny Chinese jokes.
6b. Except if it's the Chinese joke that ends with the guy jumping from behind the workshed and yelling "SUPPLIES!!"
6c. If you come upon a post that's obviously spam (lots of links, bad english, selling penis pills) do NOT reply to the thread. I've seen just about every variation of "LOL! PENIS PILLZ!" I can stand, and your post is just one more I have to remove when I delete the thing.
7. No porn. I don't know about you guys, but I mostly read forums from work and I don't need that shit cropping up. If you're going to post something like that, and you feel like you GOTTA, link to it. All threads are required to be Work Safe.
8. Profanity is fine, and sometimes humorous! Don't feel like you can't curse, but by the same right, don't curse for the sake of cursing.
9. Don't harass. A flame once in awhile is fine and potentially good but if it descends to two people bickering and annoying everyone else, take it somewhere else.
10. If there's already a thread about what you're posting your thread is gonna get locked. Nothing personal.
11. If your thread gets locked/deleted it was probably with good reason. Complaining about it is only gonna make you look bad. Then, again, Andrew will be sent out to kiss your sister.
12. Nearly anything goes in the Caturday forum, that's what it's there for! Most of the forum rules don't apply there It's anarchy! Post threads about bass fishing, karate kicking monkies, space conquest. As long as it doesn't contain nudity, excessive profanity, or racial epithets it's probably okay. You can even ask if Goku would beat Solid Snake in a fight!
12a. But if you ask that, I'm gonna make fun of you.
13. Finally. Fan-service.org is not responsible for anything that could possibly damaging to your mind or body brought up, shown, mentioned, whatever by another user. Post and read these forums with discretion.
Basically that's it. Don't like those rules? Fine, there are other places to post that won't give 'em. Please be a big boy/girl. Your mom would thank you for it.
