A little while back I started actually taking notes while I was watching the anime, so I could write better reviews. I'm sure the three people who read them are very much grateful for my effort. Trust me, Gasaraki is a series you absolutely need notes for, just to watch it. I've been through sixteen episodes now and I still don't know the names of the characters. Yuushiro's brothers are "evil brother", "tall brother", and "nerdy brother". His father is "Yuushiro's dad". I still love it though, I'm just going to have to watch it again to sort some things out.**

In the last volume, Yuushiro's aforementioned brothers had said "Up yours dad, we're outtie." And left to work under their evil sibling. The great evil one attends a secret gathering of high ranking officials, including the insane one we met before who cut out his own his so he "wouldn't be able to see what Japan had become", his name is believed to be Mr. Nishido. They speak of a pine tree and how old it was. The pine tree died because it couldn't adapt to the new ways of society, when the new one was planted it thrived because it knew how to change. Don't you think it's weird that part of this story comes from the the old man who, as I mentioned, cut out his eyes to avoid looking at the new Japan? He cut out his EYES. Since you faithful readers probably don't understand what I'm getting at. Mr. "Nishidio" doesn't have any eyes, he is BLIND and he did it on PURPOSE. Talk about crazy, this guy's a peanut in a bowl of cashews.

A person who I believe if named "Sarachi" helped Yuushiro and Miharu escape from the clutches of "evil brother", and they fled along the almost unheard of Path of the Kai, they soon come to some sort of temple with a large icon. A man who only refers to himself as "The Guardian of the Grave" tells them to touch the icon or something. Then suddenly everything goes back... to the future! Er, that is... the past. We're given a view of the earlier times of the Watanabe. There's some definite connection between the goals of the Watanabe and the Gowa, as Joel was able to decipher. Then he got all upset.

The Watanbe controlled the two Kugai given to them by Gasaraki back in the day. There's some serious upheavals and confusion as to who's in power, when the Capitol tries to force them to give up their Kugai the Watanabe decide they ain't gonna have none of that and decide to attack instead.

Needless to say, the Capitol gets screwed. Throwing rocks and arrows at a thing that can take machine-gun fire certainly would SEEM like it could work. Surprisingly though, it did not and many, many wussy Asian men die in a blaze of glory. Then there's quite the surprise, as something referred to as "The Nada"*** is achieved and all hell breaks loose. It seems that this was the plan all along. There are even crazy people in high positions in the past...

Now that I'm really focusing on every little detail lots of stuff about Gasaraki is coming together and making a lot of sense. Even if I don't know the character's names it's okay, you still know what all their roles are. I'm now completely assured that Gasaraki is what Evangelion should've been. Now, hurry up with that dub ADV!

**Joel and I considered writing a "Gasaraki for dummies" book, but we didn't want to waste the thirty years of our life it'd take to understand the show.
