I'm not gonna lie to you fellas, it's been a rough couple of weeks. Between my computer being broken and the upload server going all wonky there hasn't been an update in god knows how long. The sad thing is it really isn't much more than the normal span I let things go at. But it's all good because now I'm back and in full effect. I'm ready and willing to make up for lost time and that's what free periods on Thursday are for, hiding in my room and watching anime so I can write reviews for you, the adoring fans of this little website.

But the month of October has not started out treating me very beneficially my friends. There are a multitude of things I could blame. Pete cock blocking me on a few occasions, the fact that we took an hour and a half long drive to New Jersey's "Chowder Festival" only to find out that there was NO FREAKING CHOWDER, or even the bunk beds in my room. The very bunk beds that have given me concrete evidence on how they will never allow me to get some action where I live. But it's all good, because I got some sweet homecooked Japanese food over the weekend by some very sexy ladies. Not to say I have an Asian fetish or something, but DAMN if the potatoes didn't just melt all the way in your mouth.

One of which was about as stereotypical as you could get, which I think is funny, with her bouncing off the walls and having pink hair and declaring that she'd punish me in the "Name of the moon". Nevermind, because I'm sure everyone's more interested in what I have to say about the second disc of Excel Saga. It's pretty much more of the same, a disclaimer starts out an episode and they go about being as crazy as possible within the theme set by the disclaimer. They even get generous and throw a few "Fuck"s in there. It's not quite Manga dub caliber, but it's getting up there. We've got the survival drama, the horror movie, the fan-service show, and sports anime. All things any true anime fan should be familiar with. Unfortunately for the rest of us, that list doesn't include things like "the shower" and "deodorant", but what is it that we're going to do about it?

The PuuChuus are back in full effect and there's a nasty little twist regarding their creation that will most likely be completely forgotten in the episodes to come. Let's just say it made for a good show. Though I'm disappointed that Nabeshin did a lot less ass kicking this time. And will someone PLEASE tell me when, exactly, Space Butler is going to come back? Because I know he is and I'm waiting here like a fool for it. Until then, that Puuchuus still turn into Golgo 13 when they die is good enough for me. I love you Duke Togo.

Or, right, let's not forget that they introduce us to the 'sexy' Mitsuki Mitsuya in this disc. As is obvious by my language, she's the sexpot that one of the three trio wants to get at. You know, the one who isn't Watanabe and isn't fat. He has brown hair too, I think... maybe. The only reason I even remember Watanabe's name is because of Black Heaven anyway so I'll just shut up. It's almost as if the director decided this show wasn't clichéd enough so they had to throw in a feisty redhead a la Asuka Langley and HALF THE REST of the population of women in anime. Because no show's complete until an obnoxious guy is kicked or punched into wall a few times to prove the point that not all girls are going to lie down and take their tentacle rapings. If anime isn't a study in extremes then I don't know what is.

And you guys know I'm legally required to talk about the fan-service episode? Right. Well, I'll admit it wasn't as bad as they could've made it, but they doesn't entirely make it good either. The joke is not a single man is shown during the episode, and that leaves a lot of room for the meat sacks you and I like to call "women". Tall women, short women, women in various states of military dress.** Fortunately there's no nudity, and I have to admit the little "Sexy woman interludes" they include are relatively funny just because they're so absolutely ridiculous.

The sports anime episode of this show show is really what I've been waiting for, even though it was something I didn't actually KNOW I was waiting for! Whomever decided on this one needs a medal of valor or something because there's some serious humor in it. Nabeshin shows his skill as an actor/character as he plays a rather strong role in it, without wearing pants for basically the entire episode. I'm not gonna lie, episode 9 made me wish I could use more than four screen shots in a review, because there were some high quality ones in there. I think I had eight or nine of them at some point and it broke my heart to know that some of you out there might never be able to see them.

So all in all, how is Excel Saga? Again, I'm not really sure. I don't think it deserves a four, but it's definitely better than a three. It's not always consistent with the humor, but when it's going it's REALLY going and you're screaming like a twenty six year old virgin in a Nevada motel. Excel Saga's problem is that there's often a bit too much spacing in the episodes before they hit you with the 'serious funny'. Which is a strange little parallel, right, because what does that remind you of?

**Which ranks high up on my list of incredibly hot things, I might add.
